About CSEA Chapter 262
California School Employees Association (CSEA) has been
in existence since 1926. In 1964, Mt. San Antonio Chapter
262 was chartered to represent Classified Employees. CSEA
has the exclusive bargaining rights with the District.
Salaries, Health and Welfare Benefits, Holidays, Longevity,
Personal Necessity Leave and Professional Growth Incentives
are some of the things negotiated each year.
Membership is voluntary, but only members of CSEA may vote
on negotiated items. A three year agreement with the District
currently runs through December 31, 2005.
The college administration does not select Chapter Leaders — you do!
Your union, CSEA, is a member-run organization, which means
members like you have a voice in what the union does on your
behalf. The college administration has no authority over
CSEA, and is prohibited by law from trying to influence union
activities, dissuading employees from joining unions, or
retaliating against employees for joining unions or participating
in union activities. Only you with your union vote can control
CSEA, which is why educating yourself about your union, becoming
aware of campus issues that affect all employees, and actively
involving yourself in union activities is vital to the success
of CSEA to act on your behalf. |
