| Would you like to Serve on a Campus Committee? |
CSEA 262 is looking for classified employees to serve on various campus committees. You do not have to be a Chapter member to be selected to serve on a campus committee, but CSEA 262 has the right to appoint classified employees to committees. There are some guidelines, however. If you are interested in serving on a committee: |
- You MUST have education, experience, and/or expertise in the function or purpose the committee serves
- You MUST attend all meetings when possible and actively participate in discussions or work the committee requires of you
- You MUST report committee activities to the CSEA Chapter 262 Executive Board, which will in turn report to the membership
|
|
Your participation on a campus committee is just another part of your job, so you are NOT required to use personal time, break or lunch time, or make up any time you spend attending committee meetings or doing work required of you by the committee. You are also not required to change your work schedule to be able to participate in a committee. |
| Classified employees have a great deal to contribute to the college, and serving on a committee is just one of the many ways classified employees can contribute. |
| |
| What are our rights? |
As the exclusive bargaining unit, CSEA 262 has the right to appoint a classified representative to any committee.
|
- Appointees do not need their supervisor's permission to participate in a committee
- Appointees do not need to take comp time, vacation time, or personal necessity time to attend committee meetings
- Appointees do not have to use your own personal time to attend meetings or to perform duties required of you by the committee
