What are the potential benefits to the District if it terminates its contract with CalPERS Health?


CSEA can't speak for the District regarding potential benefits the District would receive by terminating a contract with CalPERS. However, CSEA can confirm that if the District terminated the CalPERS contract and moved to SISC, the District would be able to provide a fully paid family plan and allow less than 50% members to utilize the $500 HSA plan negotiated into the contract in 2017. CalPERS regulations prohibit these members from accessing these funds, SISC wouldn’t.
