California's community
colleges will start feeling the pain of budget woes starting
today with California lawmakers still at an impasse over
the budget. With no budget, the state will miss its first
monthly payment of about $327 million to its 109 community

Chapter Meeting Pending
Classified employees in
Unit A were offered a one-time "bonus" health and
welfare benefit of $2765 (paid tenthly) in addition
to the 2006-07 benefit of $8776 plus 5.54% (once
the legislators approve the budget). Keep watching
this space for an announcement about a special chapter
meeting to vote on the district's proposal.
