MASKS AVAILABLE FOR ESSENTIAL WORKERS

Mt. SAC has informed CSEA 262 that face masks will be provided to all employees who are required to come to campus to perform essential work.  The LA County Health Department requires anyone who goes out in public to wear a face mask.  Masks are mandatory, not optional.  If you are directed by your manager to come to campus, you must wear a mask at all times while on campus.  If you do not have a mask, you may be asked to leave campus.

If you do not have a mask of your own, you can pick one up at the Campus Safety office in Building 23, the North side (where you pick up your parking pass).  Enter the office, and the Campus Safety staff will provide you with the mask.  Also remember to maintain the six-foot social distance rule, so if there are other people already in the lobby, wait outside until they leave.  These masks are provided at no cost and are one-time use only.  Managers are aware masks are available, and you do NOT need to pick up a mask “on your own time.”

Do not come to campus and ask for a mask unless you are working.  Masks are NOT available for personal, non-work use.  Also do not come to campus unless you have been specifically given direction to do so by your manager.  If you want to come to campus to pick up something from your office, ask your manager for authorization first.  If your manager approves, then you can go to your office.  Please check in with Campus Safety to let them know you are on campus and where you will be.  Remember to pick up a mask first and leave as soon as you are done in the office.  Do not linger on campus.  Remember that LA County is still in “Safer-at-Home” mode.
